  • You will be picked up from where ever you‘re staying and drive to Tarangire on the first day. You will sleep in a lodge in Mto wa Mbu or even at a campsite.

  • On the second day you will drive into the Ngorongoro crater where you can see the amazing wildlife. After leaving the crater you will spend the night in the Serengeti.

  • On the third day you will have a whole day of game-drive in the Serengeti, where you’ll also spend the final night. During the game drive you will see lions, elephants, cheetahs, zebras and wildebeasts.

  • After early breakfast, a game drive will start and during the late afternoon you will drive back to Arusha or where ever you want to go!

Price-wise, it will depend on if you want to stay in a lodge or on a campsite. Roughly price will be around 1800 USD per person.

Further activities at Lake Natron

  • The Odonyo Lengai (mountain of God) is the only active volcano in Africa. To climb this mountain you have to start round midnight, so you will reach the top around the morning (5-6 hours climbing and 3-4 hours to get down). If you are lucky you can see the red lava during the night time when there is no moon. In the morning you will see the sunset and also Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. To fulfill this climb you need to have a good condition, good shoes and warm clothes. The climbing of Oldonyo Lengai is only for the physically fit! The trek is very steep and you should not attempt the climb if you are afraid of heights! You will be guided by local maasai guides who have been climbing the mountain for years.

  • Lake Natron is a salt, shallow and very unique lake. It is the only lake in East Africa where flamingos can make a mud nest. That is why it is a lake full of flamingo’s when it is breeding time.

    To reduce cost one can travel to Lake Natron by public transport. Here you can hike to the lake or go for sundown with a view on the lake.

  • During the hike of one hour you will enjoy the nature side and at the end you will see the waterfall with a nice palmtree. There you can enjoy the nice water for a swim. For this trip you need shoes with good grip and sustainable to water, because you have to walk parts of the trip through the water and other parts you will climb on the rocks.

  • There are 2 hot springs around Lake Natron. Both are about 1,5 hour drive. During the drive to the hotspring at the other side of the lake you will pass small Serengeti. You will enjoy the view and a lot of animals (zebra’s, wildebeest, ostrich, flamingoss, giraffes, etc.). At the hot springs you will get the possibility to swim in very nice warm water. You will feel like you are at the end of the world! There is a possibility to overnight and experience real Maasai culture.

  • Hiking to this crater is also a possibility. And from here you can walk to the ‘grand canyon’. After that the car will pick you and go back to hotspring for lunch and swimming. In the late afternoon you walk to the lake for sundown and have diner in the camp.
